Information
The night heron is most active at night, hunting for food such as aquatic plants, fish, frogs, mollusks, and worms.
They nest in trees and can lay up to a dozen or more eggs at a time.
Both sexes of the night heron are similar in appearance. Their feathers are mostly brown with varying hues and patterns, and they have brownish eyes. Their beaks, legs, and feet are dark gray. Adult night herons can reach a length of 38 to 40 cm with a maximum weight of about 600 grams.

Their diet consists of small fish, worms, and aquatic plants.
Habitat
At night, they are usually found in areas around lakes and wet rice fields. During the day, they can be found in similar habitats.
