Background
Nowadays, Rimba Razia is the most renowned zoo in Terengganu and even across the East Coast. It houses more than 100 species/types of animals.
The establishment of Rimba Razia began with a passion for animal care and a love for nature, especially animals and plants. This led the owner of Rimba Razia, Dato’ Seri Zakaria bin Abdul Razak, to start by raising goats and deer in 2017, eventually leading to the opening of Rimba Razia.
On July 15, 2023, Dato’ Seri Haji Zakaria proudly opened Rimba Razia, now known as Zoo Rimba Razia. With a concept focused on petting zoo, it features over 100 species of animals. Visitors have the opportunity to experience feeding tame animals such as deer, goats, handling snakes, turtles, riding horses, petting cats of various breeds, and interacting with a variety of other animals. Numerous activities are available, all supervised by experienced and skilled staff.
By visiting this zoo, visitors will be able to see a wide variety of animals not only from Malaysia but also from all over the world. Dato’ Seri Haji Zakaria’s dedication to bringing in various species of animals is not only driven by his passion and hobby, but also by his desire to encourage visitors to learn more closely about the different species of animals found across the globe.
Not everyone is fortunate enough to travel abroad and see these animals, which come in various shapes and forms, up close. From this, he endeavoured to make the opening of this zoo a reality, not just as a place for enjoyment, but also as an educational venue for visitors of all ages.
