The Sudan Platted Lizard (also known as the Western Platted Lizard, Great Platted Lizard, or Broadley’s Rough-Scaled Platted Lizard) is a medium-sized African lizard that is active during the day. This lizard has a sturdy body, short legs, and a relatively broad tail. It can grow to 20-24 inches in length (less than half of which is the tail). Its scales are rough and box-shaped, with a yellow center.

The Sudan Platted Lizard is omnivorous. Although it primarily feeds on insects, it also occasionally consumes fruits, plants, and small vertebrates such as lizards and mice. It also enjoys fruits and vegetables in its diet.
Habitat
This lizard is found in eastern and central Africa, including Tanzania (including the Zanzibar Islands), Kenya, and Mozambique. It prefers rocky, semi-open areas such as coastal forests, bushland, moist savannah, and dry savannah. Specifically, it likes to reside in rock piles and crevices.
