Tarantula

Information

The tarantula is a large spider, often hairy, and is often a nightmare for many people. However, some species of tarantulas can actually be very docile and easy to tame. Tarantulas have small hairs on their bodies which they use when threatened.

Eating Habits

Tarantulas are carnivorous creatures, meaning they eat meat. They consume a variety of animals, including insects such as crickets, grasshoppers, June beetles, crickets, millipedes, worms, and even other spiders. Larger tarantulas can also eat frogs, toads, fish, lizards, bats, and sometimes small mice and snakes.

Habitat

There are over 900 species of tarantulas that have been identified. They inhabit a variety of habitats, including rainforests, deserts, and tundras. Some live in trees (arboreal), while others live on the ground or underground. Tarantulas have a very wide distribution across the world.
